Daylight is a calendar product: a macOS menu bar app and a browser extension. Lunar dates, solar terms, and moon phases are computed on your device; system calendars sync read-only, and location is used for moon phase only — never uploaded.

macOS menu bar app

Click the menu bar icon for a compact calendar. Read-only sync with macOS system calendars (iCloud, Google, Exchange, and other EventKit accounts). Tap an event to open it in Calendar.app.

Compact 300pt popover

Clean month grid with colored dots on days that have events; the dark agenda lists the selected day's schedule, then diary and todos below; the footer counts down to the next event with a new-entry button at the bottom-right. Moon phase readout beside the agenda header. Tap the title to zoom out to the month, year, and decade pickers. Panels slide smoothly between views, honouring Reduce motion.

Full 412pt calendar

Lunar date and solar term subtitles under each day, week numbers, moon phase row, and a quick diary field; zoom from month → year → decade → century with animated transitions between scales. With lunar dates on, the pickers label each month with the lunar months it spans and each year with its stem-branch name.

System calendar

Read-only access to macOS calendar accounts via EventKit; events appear as colored dots on the grid and in a list for the selected day. Video conference links (Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex, and more) are detected and marked.

Holidays

Subscribe to Gregorian holidays via iCal: built-in presets for Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan, and Thailand, plus multiple custom .ics URLs, each with its own color.

Moon phases

Moon phase for any date; the macOS app also offers a 3D Moon model that uses your on-device location to compute azimuth, altitude, and libration — location is never uploaded.

Diary & todos

Free-text diary entries per day on macOS; type [] buy milk (or [ ] / [x]) for todos with checkboxes — completed items strike through. Export as JSON.

Date marks & diary

Color marks and diary entries on individual days in the browser extension.

Menu Bar & languages

Customizable status bar items: moon icon, date badge, day number, lunar day, weekday, and time — reorder as you like. Interface languages: 中文, English, ไทย (Thai shows the Buddhist Era).
